Speech given by Mayor Thomas U. Todd at the Ohio Historic Marker Dedication of the Cinncinnati & Hamilton Turnpike at Tollgate Park on October 28, 2006. After World War I the Turnpike was for a time also called the Rainbow Highway because of the plaques that were placed along it to honor the local soldiers who lost their lives.
When the intersection was redone at Sharon and Springfield the plaques were removed to the War Memorial.
